Focusing on innovation
An agreement was signed between Sectron and the European program “Eurowatch” to address the problem of escalating crime against commercial vehicles throughout Europe. The idea behind this pact is to assist drivers and owners access police when in foreign countries. This program has a wide range of applications such as:
- Access to police emergency services across Europe
- A single telephone number to call
- All national languages spoken
- Communication with any GPS system
- Relay of tracking data to police in real-time
- Assistance in dealing with police post-incident
This new service works through a network of National Service Providers that have accreditation to police in each country. They use the technology of the service and its standard procedures for incidents. A key feature of “EUROWATCH” is a technology integrator that enables all types of GPS system to transmit positioning data into the network, which is then relayed to the police by the accredited National Service Provider in the country of incident. This allows police to view the vehicle position in real-time during the emergency response process.
Achievements
In the end of 1999 Sectron moved into its own three- storеy office building (2,500 square meters), creating a pleasant working environment for both Sectron and SOT. It is designed to serve as a spacious showroom, where customers are able to physically evaluate and test the latest security equipment. Two separate premises are dedicated to the Service department where clients can get an update on repairs. Clients and personnel can exchange ideas without any hindrance in the specialized lounge where refreshments are served. The storage rooms are situated in the back of the building making them easily accessible for larger trucks and vans. The warehouse comprises of over 1,000,000 Euro’s worth of equipment at any given time. In close proximity to the warehouse is a Public Treasury where personal valuables are kept safe. Both the warehouse and the treasury are heavily guarded by CCTV, Access control and an intruder alarm equipment. The cafeteria on the ground floor offers a wide range of food and beverages but can also be easily transformed to a conference room where seminars are held, seating more than 50 people, taking full advantage of the newly installed wide-screen television set connected to a satellite receiver.
Shortly after completing its new office building, Sectron and SOT finalized the total renovation of its own production facility situated in the industrial area “Gara Iskar” in Sofia. The new building (1,500 square meters) is fitted with a complete production line for SMD assembly. Sectron has been in the manufacturing business since 1991 where it produced PIR detectors for the local market.

In consortium with Lirex-BG we started the installation of the video surveillance systems of the Sofia’s schools and kindergardens. Every single system is individually built for every site – cameras are situated at “hot” points in schools so they can provide maximum protection against unwanted activities like vandalism, youth violence and drug sale. Cameras communicate directly with the local surveillance center, situated in the school and two operational centers – in Sofia Municipality and SDP (Sofia Police Directorate). The system will cover 196 schools and kinder gardens at the territory of Sofia. Our clients
Both Sectron and SOT have rich working experience with the Ministry of Interior, which is why Sectron is the Ministry’s main and most trusted supplier of security systems for more than 17 years already. In order for this relationship to evolve, a large portion of the technical documentation had to be certified and the equipment itself had to be rigorously tested conforming to the highest European standards for use by the Ministry and its divisions.
