During the European Security and Safety Summit, held in the period 6. – 7. June 2007 in Brussels, SOT Ltd and Sectron were awarded by the “European Emergency Number Association” for its contribution to the implementation of the system CISCO IPICS which is first in Bulgaria and second in Europe in the field of network communications.
The award was presented at a special ceremony in Hall 11 of EXPO Brussels on 06.06.2007 in the presence of the founder of the association Mr. Oliver Pall–Morandini and Mr. Gerhard Fischer, representative of CISCO systems for Europe. The awards of the “European Emergency Number Association 112” are granted to persons and organizations which have shown an exclusive performance in risky situations and have contributed on their own initiative to saving of persons/property and to the lowering of risk. In this case the companies were awarded for best project initiative for the introducing and development of a high speed IP network (up to 54 Mbit/sec) for monitoring and prevention of crimes and incidents. This is a very big and unique project not only for Bulgaria but for Europe as well. The system is integrated and serves for transmission of video pictures and digital data from sites, as well as for securing of an excellent voice connection with the mobile patrols and the physical security staff, with the use of an IP protocol. The project is implemented jointly with the Israeli company “Bynet”. The next step is the establishment of a center for the whole country which will be getting the information coming from all sites covered by the security services of SOT 161 and will provide management of all the company’s resources. The software is modern and licensed and allows for the monitoring of thousands of sites.
The pilot project has been completed and new stations in Sofia and in the country are going to be established.
