The international hotel market is becoming increasingly design conscious. Architects and designers are increasingly influencing the purchasing process, and they typically focus on preserving the doors with a minimum of lock HW and utilising the door lock in the overall design of the hotel. Research shows that their typical priorities in this context are:
• Desire for minimum lock HW on the outside (i.e. no bulky outside escutcheons in the corridor)
• Possibility for matching the general lock HW style with the hotel’s general design
• Handle design/quality
• Handle flexibility (i.e. scope for architect specified unique handles)
• Ergonomic and user intuitive design
Signature is a product that has been especially developed with these needs in mind. Through an elegant modular design, combined with an exclusive handle offering, the product aims to fill the void that many architects and designers experience in today’s electronic lock industry. By enhancing the doors and blending with the hotel environment, Signature provides a solution which is bringing a totally new and unique dimension into hotel security. Moreover by having studied and considered human factor elements in the ergonomic design, the product also ensures intuitive use for both guests and staff.
Product Architecture
In the interest of reliability and compatibility, Signature is based on the same general product platform as Classic (Castor, 4.5V). This means that it utilises the same electronics, front desk systems and lockcases, and can consequently be installed in mixed installations with Classic and ALFA lock models1.
Signature has a modular lock configuration which consists of the following:
• An outside bezel covering an LCU
• An inside battery holder/cover
• Lockcase
• Handles w/rosettes
• An inside thumbturn w/cover plate
• An optional mechanical override cylinder

• A choice of two alternative bezel designs (Trend or Décor)
• A choice of 4 alternative lever designs (Wing, Functional ANSI, Straight & Gothic)
• A magnetic stripe reader
• A black polymer battery cover
• Standard finish (satin chrome)
• Standard lockcase alternatives (US ANSI, VC ANSI, EURO, AUS, JPN)
• Lockcase front plates/strikes in Satin Chrome or Satin Brass (ANSI). Satin chrome fronts only, for EURO lockcases
